Naming, identity and packaging for a family apiary



The client came for the creation of a trademark for a family honey apiary. 

Already at the first meeting, we found out that this is a hobby, which gradually took a significant part of life. A great love for what we do, an environmentally sustainable approach and a deep dive into the technology of honey production have become distinctive features. And great satisfaction lay in the mixture of interest, enthusiasm, fun, hard work and inquisitive mind. The client wanted to sell organic and healthy honey. Honey is often chosen by people 35+, so one of the objectives of developing a trademark was to rejuvenate the target audience. 

Task: come up with a protectable name, design a logo and corporate identity, and create product packaging.


The work began with immersion in the niche of honey in Russia, studying the history of honey production, the best world experience and practices, old authentic technologies, studying the properties of honey and wax, and searching for trends in the development of apiary farms. 

The niche of honey in naming turned out to be difficult. There are hundreds of family apiaries with excellent registered names on the market. We came up with more than 25 names, as a result, the client chose the toponym neologism in the style of the name of the Russian village «Lyubomedovo». A great choice for a fictional village where everyone loves honey. The slogan was added to the name: «Village of delicious honey.»
The beauty of detailed landscapes, perky animals that weave cunning plans on how to get honey. The honey itself in full hives running gold along the trays and bees. All this is Lyubomedovo, a place where literally everyone loves honey.

Funny animals in a unique drawing do not leave anyone indifferent. They all rush to taste the honey. You can fantasize and create new stories, and it becomes interesting to consider the label. In addition, with this design, we definitely stand out on the shelf among the classic competitors. 

The illustration can be used not only on standard packages, but also on gift packages, used as gift cards or even branded merchandise. A light playful logo with bee wings, a brand name reminiscent of a bee not in the forehead, but a hint, a warm atmosphere and funny characters — such packaging will definitely smile at a person of any age. We created a simple design system that works from unique branded illustrations and developed product packaging.
